GRAACA Christmas Party

Our Annual Christmas Party will be at The Bay City Restaurant (Bay City Seafood), 110 Eisenhower Drive, Hanover, PA. As some of our attendees drive a considerable distance we have changed the time of the Banquet to an earlier hour. Doors open at 12:30pm. Brief Comments from our President at 1pm. They will start serving at 1:15pm. Please use “Front Entrance” to the restaurant.  We will have our own attractively decorated room as we return to this well received location for 2023. Look forward to some fine food, holiday cheer with friends and music of the season.

We are so pleased to have as our entertainment this year: John Pepsin. He sings and plays The Great American Songbook. Music by your favorite artists including Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, John Denver, Glen Campbell, Elvis Presley and more.

There will be a visit from Santa Claus for all the good boys and girls aged 1 to 101. If you bring children, please bring a wrapped gift for each of the children with their names on it and put the gift in the box by the door marked for that purpose. 

Choose a delicious entree – a 2 Crab Cake Dinner, Chicken Cordon Bleu or Roast Beef with filling. Meals include tossed salad, vegetables and Pie and ice cream. For the young folks (12 and under) a choice of Cheeseburger Dinner or Chicken Nugget Dinner. Deadline to register is November 20.

Directions: Eisenhower Drive is on the northside of town between Routes 94 (Carlisle Street) and 194. The restaurant is located on the north side of the street, just a couple of buildings from the Route 94 intersection.

GRAACA Nominations Dinner

This year’s Nominations Dinner will be held at Hoss’s Steak & Sea House, 1180 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA. at 1:00pm. We will have a limited menu of 5 choices consisting of Soup/Salad & Dessert Bar, 1/4 lb. Willie Burger with fries, 6 oz. Steak Dinner, Chicken Filet Dinner or Shrimp Dinner. You will order and pay at the restaurant on that day.

Following the Nominations, Tom Zinn will provide a presentation on the History of the Hanover Car that was produced in Hanover during the early 1920’s. Anyone who has pictures, stories or memorabilia of the Hanover Car are welcome to share as this will be an informal open discussion.

GRAACA Annual Dinner 2023

Join us Saturday, February 4th, for the 2023 Installation of Officers Dinner at the Lower Allen VFW Post #7530, address is: 4545 Westport Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Social Gathering 5:30-6:15pm, with light Hors D’oeuvres and cash bar. Buffet Dinner to follow. Final menu will be in next issue of the Gas Buggy Gazette.

Installation Dinner 2020

The executive board of the Gettysburg Region has found it difficult to find a banquet location to host our event due to PA Covid restrictions.

         We are happy to announce that the EMMR has agreed to open the museum for our event on the first Saturday of February 2021.

         Our social hour will be from 12pm until 1pm Saturday, February 6th, 2021 after which we will have a catered dinner. Cost will be $20.00 per person, with your Region picking up all expenses above this amount. Due to the Covid restrictions, we will not have any entertainment following the installation of officers.

We hope the afternoon event timing will allow attendance for those who do not like to drive after dark. Deadline to register is Friday, January 22nd, 2021. Registration in the Nov-Dec issue of The Gas Buggy Gazette. Nominations Dinner 2020

—Sunday, November 8, EMMR York Springs, Pa.

         The Gettysburg Region’s annual Nominations Soup & Sandwich Dinner will be held at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing, 100 Baltimore Road, York Springs, Pa. 17372. Dinner will start at 1:00 pm, and officer nominations will take place once our stomachs are full.

         Please Note. This year the club will provide a dessert so instead of bringing a dessert please bring a mask. Cost is $5.00 per person to help cover expenses. Deadline to register is November 2nd. Registration form in Sept-Oct issue of The Gas Buggy Gazette. GRAACA Covered Dish Dinner

—Sunday, March 22, 2020, York Springs, Pa.

         This fun time social event will again be held at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing, 100 Baltimore Rd., York Springs, Pa. 17325.  Starting time is 1:00 pm.  Please bring a covered dish to share with your fellow club members.  It’s a great way to spend the day enjoying excellent homemade food along with some great camaraderie!! 

         Our hosts have asked that you bring a sampling of your favorite hobby to display on tables set up for your convenience.  This activity has been done before and everyone attending seemed to enjoy viewing their fellow members’ hobby displays, as well as a short talk by the hobbyist describing their display.

  Also, our host have asked that everyone wear something green to represent St Patrick’s day which falls on Tuesday prior to our covered dish dinner.  We look forward to a great member turnout of Leprechauns!!

Annual Dinner 2020– a look back

–Saturday, February 1, 2020

Always held right before the National AACA Convention, this event is our region’s opportunity to install officers for the New Year and show our appreciation for our members. The committee–Ron Green, Karl Krouch and Ed Rogers–did a great job of planning the evening. Held once again at the Lower Allen VFW Post #7530, attendees got to enjoy a buffet dinner and entertainment from The Klineklaus Duo who played “jazz and popular music with a groove” from the 50’s to the 70’s. They were a hit and, wouldn’t you know it, they also have an interest in cars!

Honored guests for the evening included AACA Executive Vice President Jim Elliot, AACA Executive Director Steve Moskowitz, and AACA Museum Executive Director Jeff Bleimeister. Jim and Steve both gave exciting updates about the national club, the new headquarters, the convention in Philly, and the recent purchase of the Free Library of Philadelphia’s auto archives by the AACA Library. Jeff also graciously spoke about the museum and the new “Age of Aquarius” exhibit. He also talked about the importance of the museum’s volunteers, some of whom are Gettysburg Region members including Bob And Dottie Shultz.

The most important part of the evening was the installation of officers in which the gavel was passed from President Annette Yost to new President Bon Barlup. Other new officers for 2020 include Karl Krouch as Vice President, Deb Sherwood as Secretary and Al Maybee as Treasurer. Also, Jim Yemzow and Pat Shaffer were given the Outstanding Service Award for 2019.

Covered Dish Dinner

This fun-time social event will be held at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing, 100 Baltimore Rd., York Springs, PA 17372. Starting time is 1:00 p.m.

Please bring a covered dish to share with your fellow club members. Spend the day enjoying excellent homemade food along with some great camaraderie. The event will include some type of game or contest…options are still being considered. Suggestions are welcome. There will be several very nice club sponsored prizes along with a few gift certificates. A small inexpensive prize donation would be welcomed and certainly appreciated but not required. We look forward to a great member turnout.

DIRECTIONS: Take Rt. 15 to cross-road at milepost 25.9, north of York Springs, south of Dillsburg; turn east at the sign for EMMR. Please consider attending.
